CD Shelf Into Bathroom Shelf Makeover

Dieses CD-Regal wollte ich unbedingt für unser Bad benutzen, da es sehr schmal ist und die Tiefe perfekt passt. Leider war das Dunkelblau nicht mein Fall, und in den kurzen Fächern fanden Haarspray und Zahnpasta nicht Platz - da musste etwas getan werden!

I really wanted to use this CD shelf for our bathroom because it is so narrow and the depth of it would be perfect. Unfortunately, I wasn't a big fan of the dark blue colour, and the short compartments were not high enough to house hair spray and tooth paste - I needed to change this!



Zuerst habe ich das Regal auseinandergebaut und die Seitenteile sowie die Hinterwand mit zwei Schichten rosa Farbe angestrichen.

Firstly, I disassembled the shelf and painted the side as well as the back elements with two coats of pink paint.



Anschließend zusammengebaut, dabei habe ich aber ein paar Böden einfach weggelassen - schon hat man hohe Fächer!

Then I simply assembled it again but left out some of the shelves - and just like that you have higher compartments!



An die Seite kamen zwei Klebehaken von IKEA, und schon war das Regal schön genug, um in unserem Bad  Einzug zu halten. Habt ihr in letzter Zeit auch etwas umgestaltet?

On the side I adhered two hooks from IKEA, and the shelf was pretty enough to be allowed in our bathroom. Have you done a makeover lately?

Guest Post: Emily from Some Girl - A Diary

Hello, readers of Kati’s blog! I am terrible at introductions, so I’ll make it simple and say I’m engaged to the love of my life and I am obsessed with photography.

However, today I will be blogging about something else I am passionate about: fashion! I love love waking up and getting dressed. It makes going places worth it, right? (Cough, cough, school, the grocery store, friends' houses, walks, movies, shopping) Anyways, so here are my favorite things in my closet right now...

 I love love love tights with shorts! Ah! Like, literally it's all I wear in the winter. 

Love stripes. Also, those mint tights. I love colored/patterned tights. I feel like they add so much personality to an outfit. Also, mint is one of my wedding colors so maybe I'm a bit biased...

MY GALAXY LEGGINGS. Absolute favorite. Also, paired with stripes. This sweater is my favorite. I got it from an asian website and it has a kitten in the corner that says "may you always be happy and healthy". Does it get any cuter!? 

I also really like skulls. I love love love me some skull tees.

Last, but not least, my boots. These boots are my absolute fave. They are the perfect weight and get me through anything! LOVE. FREAKING. THEM.

A Walk in the Park

Na, habt ihr jetzt auch alle einen Ohrwurm vom Titel? Am Mittwoch haben Aidan und ich uns ein Stündchen genommen und sind zum nächsten Park gelaufen. Vielleicht haben wir auch Wein getrunken, nachmittags um 4 Uhr (uh-oh). Vielleicht. Heute treffe ich mich nachmittags mit einer Freundin und wir gehen auf einem Stoffmarkt bummeln - ich brauche noch Stoffe für eine paar Home-Projekte!



Do you all have a song stuck in your head now from the title? On wednesday, Aidan and I took an hour and walked to the nearest park. Maybe we also had some wine at 4pm (uh-oh). Maybe. Today, I will meet a friend in the afternoon and we'll have a stroll at a fabric market - I still need fabric for some home projects!




Zum Outfit gibt's sonst nicht viel zu sagen: Cardi second hand, Tasche und Kleid sind uralt. Das einzig neue sind die Ballerinas, die ja aber an sich nicht sehr aufregend sind. Eine tolle Neuigkeit noch: am Dienstag war ich endlich mal wieder reiten, und es hat sooo viel Spaß gemacht. Ich hatte fast ein halbes Jahr Pause, und alle Reiter/innen da draußen wissen, dass das eigentlich viel zu lang ist!




There is nothing much to say about the outfit: cardi second hand, bag and dress are old. The only new things are the flats and not even they are particularly exciting! I do have great news though: on tuesday I was riding again and it was incredibly fun. I had a break of almost half a year and every rider out there will know that this is way too long!

Popcorn mitten am Tag, total okay. Schöner Teppich. Die tägliche Kanne Tee.

Popcorn in the middle of the day is totally fine, right? Pretty rug. The daily pot of tea.

DIY Lace Covered Pots

Diese Töpfe machen sich super überall in der Wohnung oder als Geschenk - meine Schwester und ich haben dieses DIY zusammen gemacht und an die Familie verschenkt! Die Idee haben wir von hier. Ihr braucht: Spitze, Pflanzen (wir haben selbstgezogene Aloe Vera benutzt) und Tontöpfe.

These pretty pots are perfect everywhere in the house or as a gift - my sister and I made this DIY together and then gave it to our family! We found this idea here. You'll need: lace, plants (we used home grown aloe vera) and terra cotta pots.





Nachdem die Töpfe gereinigt waren, haben wir einfach mithilfe von Superkleber die Spitze angebracht - so simpel! Danach die Pflanzen eintopfen und schon habt ihr ein tolles Accessoire oder Geschenk.

After the pots were cleaned, we simply used super glue to adhere the lace to the pots - that simple! Then plant the plants into the pots and voilà, you have a super accessory for your home or a gift.

Of Cats and Polo Shirts

Dieses Polo-Shirt habe ich beim 1-Euro-Sale im second hand ergattert - ein perfektes Teil und es passt auch noch wie angegossen! Zusammen mit den Schuhen sieht's vielleicht ein bisschen nach Tennisplatz aus, aber diese Sneakers durften schon viel zu lange nicht raus.




I purchased this polo shirt at a 1 Euro sale in my local second hand - a perfect piece and it also fits so well! Together with these shoes I do look a bit like tennis court, but these sneakers simply hadn't been allowed outside for too long now.



Die Katzentasche hat auch schon ein paar Jahre auf dem Buckel (ha!). Hier in Berlin vermisse ich unseren Kater ziemlich, man gewöhnt sich doch sehr stark an so ein Fellbündel! Eine eigene wollen Aidan und ich uns erst einmal nicht anschaffen, aber vielleicht wird's ja nächstes Jahr was!




This kitty bag is several years old now and wearing it, I really miss our cat from home! You just get so used to these little bundles of fur. Aidan and I won't get our own anytime soon, but maybe something will work out next year?
